About Wildbug

Wildbug started with a simple belief - that childhood is meant to be messy, curious and full of adventure.

I believe in the importance of children having the freedom to explore the world around them through climbing, getting muddy, collecting treasures, asking a million questions and discovering.

It’s easy nowadays to become busy, so I wanted to create something that shifts the balance a little. A time for children to simply be children.

Why Wildbug?

Wildbug grew from my love of nature-based play.
Throughout my experience working with children it has become abundantly clear - they don’t need much to play. Sometimes all that is needed is a stick, a puddle, some rocks. This is where the imagination is given space to shine!

And I wanted parents to be a part of that experience too. Wildbug is a place for children and carers to explore, learn and grow together.

I hope Wildbug gives families the chance to slow down, get a little messy, meet other like-minded families and discover just how much learning and joy can happen when children are given the freedom to play outdoors.

My approach

Wildbug sessions are child-led, playful and adventurous.

I’ll provide the invitations and opportunities - but the children are the leaders of the play. Some days we may find ourselves focused on an insect that we have discovered, other days we may become immersed in building a fort!

I invite you to come along, get messy, follow your curiosity and see where the adventure takes you!

Welcome to Wildbug.

Hi, I’m Alicia! Welcome.

Wildbug believes that children should have the opportunity to know nature up close - get muddy, look under leaves and wonder at the world around them. We also believe that exploring nature comes with a responsibility to care for it. We play gently, leave wildlife wild, respect Country and leave the places we visit ready for the next little explorers.
